Hi 95 850 na 165K,
mechanic said sway bar link, passanger side broken. Is that easy to replace? I am a newbie mechanic.
Also read in an Ebay 850 listing of a 850 equipped Mega squirt. I am easy on the gas, my gas mileage is 20 in the city, 25 on the highway. Just replaced plugs and wires, next is dist. cap and rotor. Is that usual gas mileage?
Thanks in advance, I really like this site, especially for non-mechanics. Thanks Matthew and all of you.

Sway bar links are easy for anyone with a jack, requires two bolts to be removed. If you jack your car in the centre of the sub frame(so you lift both front tires) it should put even pressure on the sway bar so you can do it with one jack. Most recommend doing both end links, as a broken one can put excess pressure on the other side causing wear. It MAY be possible you need to have an extra jack to load either the spring or sway bar to line up the bolt holes, I have never needed to.
As for your fuel economy, 20/25 US MPG is in a typical range I would say.

Good luck.

I think everyone handled the sway bar link question well enough already. I bought the cheaper after-market links from FCP last week, and will have them as well as a lot more new suspension parts on this weekend. I haven't seen the HD links other than on IPD's website, but even the cheaper links from FCP are beefier than what's on my car right now.
I searched eBay, and if were talking about the same 850, it looks like a mad science experiment gone wrong. I believe the HHO nonsense to be "snake oil." However with some tuning via the Megasquirt computer, and diligent throttle control I believe that those mileage numbers they are claiming are probably doable.
Megasquirt is a DIY engine management system that can be used to control fuel and/or spark in place of or along with the factory computer in any car. Megasquirt uses GM sensors and is completely tuneable/adjustable via a computer and data cable with the Megatune software. Megasquirt is targeted at the budget minded DIY auto tuner. Check out diyautotune.com it's a pretty dang neat apparatus, you can literally buy the circuit board and all of the gizmos to solder together your very own engine management system if you want.

HI All,
Thank you very much for your great knowledge and patience with this newbie mechanic. I love my 850, although the 740 was way easier to simple stuff.
Thanks again.
