The fuel pump is in the fuel tank as part of the fuel gauge sending unit.
It is part #11 on the attached:
To test it on the car you would need to run a lead from the positive terminal of the battery to the terminal on top of the unit. However, if it is working you should be able to hear it when you switch on the ignition.
