I'm new, how to remove exhaust on an 850turbo wagon?

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

I'm new, how to remove exhaust on an 850turbo wagon?

Post by 4starsintheskye »

Hi there! I have a 1996 850Turbo Wagon and I'm trying to remove the exhaustpipe after (not including) the catalytic converter. I'm trying to learn more about cars, but I know so far that this will make it get a little more power, while making it louder. It's okay in my neighborhood. So. I unbolted the tailpipe thing and took that off. But then there are these rubber things attached to the main piece that are really hard to get off. Any advice on this or taking the exhaust off at all?

Also, if someone could redirect me to the threads about tuning boost/how to do it, and maybe some other 850 turbo 1996 mods?

Thanks so much guys! I really need help!

OH, also: are there other mods that I can do that are relatively cheap and FAIRRLY easy to give it more accel, w/out reducing mileage. it's already pretty dang fast, and it's my first car. thanks!

Stage 0: where to start w/ performance mods <- that's the bible of making more power. Not only is it where to start, but it should keep you busy for weeks.

Performance kits are graded Stage 1, Stage 2 etc. in terms of power (read: amount of stress on your wallet, and on your Volvo) so somewhere down the line someone smartly coined Stage 0.
