1995 850Turbo, 143000 miles or so.
Can anyone tell me what this is? it looks like it's part of a sensor that may have broken off? I'm pretty sure it's part of the AC.

Thanks in advance!

Pat

It looks like it might be part 44 or 45 with half of it broken off to me.

basically its a safety feature if your a/c sys. pressure get to low or high it will shut the a/c compressor off.

It is the high pressure cut-off...The low pressure cut-off is near the firewall on the larger of the two A/C lines that go through the firewall...Thin line, high pressure...Thick line, low pressure...It is important because you have to order the right swich...

There must be an electrical connector swinging in the breeze somewhere in there...It will have the rest of that broken switch...I believe that switch is called a pressostat...

it's in the foreground of the 2nd pic, plugged into a dummy port (why it's there I have no clue!) I just put it there back when I changed my belt and noticed the switch was gone to avoid it just dangling loose.
Near as I can tell, It hasn't been there in a long time.
