Hey guys,

I just bought a 2004 XC90 and noticed a problem. My lower brake lights on both sides are out, and I get a "check stop lamps" message every time I press on the brake. I noticed that the top brake light still works just fine. Has anyone else had this problem and know how to fix this?

what a dumba$$ reply!!! the check position message usually does not come on unless the bulbs are out.
To the original poster: see my reply to your other message for instruction on how to replace them. the message will go away once you replace them.

No, it's not a dumbass reply. We get people of all backgrounds and experience levels on this site, so it's best to start with the basics even if they may seem obvious to most owners.

Also, reread the forum posting rules.
