oops. i dropped the drain plug washer in the drain pan. didn't notice. didn't put is back on.
how important is that little thingie? am i gonna drip? i can't think of a good way to get it on without essentially changing the oil again (5+ quarts of synth... argh...)

Just observe the area where you parked. If it does drip, then get the washer ready, and quickly remove it and let the oil flow out into a bucket. Quickly slip the washer on and replace. This will get messy. You can determine how much oil was lost by seeing how much came out. If, you're good, probably a quart.

You're supposed to replace that crush washer every time you change the oil. You don't want to overtighten the plug either or you'll be looking for a new one as it is made of aluminum, which can strip relatively easily.

well, no leaks after 240+ miles of driving today. the head on the plug isn't in the best of shape, so i'll just replace the whole thing, with the washer. fun!
