length of time for repairs?

Post by bigtimebuilder »

I was pretty unclear in my previous post. To clarify, I brought my Volvo into Cinderella Carriage in Cambridge, MA last Tuesday. The problems I wrote down on the sheet were that the AC was busted, turns out that is shot for good. What I don't understand is how the other two problems- brake pads need replacement, radio is in OFF and needs to be reset, and new battery needs to be installed- are taking them over 7 days to fix. I had the EXACT same problem before and this took them 2 days. That was during peak hours. Right now everyone who owns a volvo in Boston is off in Aruba, and I don't see how during the most non-peak time of the year that these repairs are taking forever. I talked to my friend, who knows auto mechanics and I should have brought my car to, and he said all of my repairs combined should only take a couple hours. Furthermore he says the $3,000 dollars they are asking me is ludicrous. What do you guys have to say about this?

Why don't you call and ask them what repairs/modifications they're making?
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

A. Your friend is right.

B. The dealer is playing with you. Mebbe cuz half the staff is on vacation, mebbe just because they can.

C. Call the owner or general manager, explain your problems and ask them "Why would I ever want to do business with you again?"

D. Get your un-repaired car back and take it to an independent who will turn it around in a day (except for the AC) and charge you way less.

Good luck.
