Is there a way to test the resistance of the mass air flow sensor? Is there a range of values it should be in or is it something I just have to replace?

I can't answer most of the questions you are asking, but I know someone said that they've succeed to clean the MAF Sensor ...
Some cleaning spray, I am not sure which one exactly.

I had to clean my MAF last week on the Platinum. The symptoms were a very rough idle and low speed stumbling. To clean the MAF use either MAF cleaner or electrical contact cleaner. Just spray the MAF element and let it dry. Don't try to scrub it or don't even touch it - it is very sensitive and it will be destroyed if touched or scrubbed.

I found a cheap one on eBay for 60 bucks so I'm gonna try replacing it and see what happens. Hopefully it will fix it!
