ABS module repair
ABS module repair
My wife's 1998 V70 XC is now showing the ABS and the Traction lights alway's are on. I figure it is now time to replace the module with a rebuild, has anyone used Moudlmaster??? They say 2 day return ship for 100.00. Also will the car be driveable while it is removed from the car, I assume it would be since it it not workink correctly anyway. Since the lights are alway's on isn't the system default to off?

I just fix them myself but we have had a number of members that have used ModuleMaster and have been pleased.
There is a guy over on VolvoSpeed that does them for around $35.00.

I recently used Module Master and was very pleased. Also comes with a 5 year warranty, which is nice. The 2 days is how long they have it there. You control how quick (expensive) the shipping is.

I'm over here too! Just a different name, and I should probably look into getting it changed.Ozark Lee wrote:I just fix them myself but we have had a number of members that have used ModuleMaster and have been pleased.

Generally, I do same day turnaround and ship via priority mail. Or you can get a module in advance and not worry about downtime. My warranty is for life.
I'll be honest. It takes 20 minutes to crack one of these open and fix it, then a few more minutes testing it on the car. It doesn't justify a $100 price tag. I'm also active and contribute on all of the forums that I sell on.

Hi, I recently did the DIY on my module. I had it out of the car for a few days with no issues, the only thing was that I had no speedometer and the mileage computer is off. I looking at it and gulped when I saw 50+ (L/100km!!!).

Oh crap - haha - $35.00 ?? That's all?
I got a rebuilt ABS module from ModuleMaster, it was $200.00. I got it because of the 5 year warranty and fast shipping.
There are a few people who do these ABS module repairs for cheap though.

I'll say this about BBA.cn90 wrote:I use BBA-reman.com $120, life-time warranty.
I think that most people that rebuild these, including myself, take pride in a doing a good job. I'm all for competition, and there's enough work for everybody that does it.
Based on the amount of core returns that I've received with BBA stickers on them, and the shape that they're in when I get them open, I wouldn't recommend them to anybody. I don't accept anything they've touched as a core return.
I've never had a core return that was from Victor Rocha or ModuleMasters. I've only had one Programma come through. I've had over 10 come in that were from BBA. Half of those were non-repairable because of corrosion from not sealing the case properly after they hack it open, and their soldering is hit or miss. Most novices do a better job.
