Computer problem likely?

Post by niswander »

On a road trip when the AC compressor locked up and serpentine belt broke. Since on the interstate with a child, we continued to drive until the car went dead (about 30 miles) Installed new AC compressor and belt, (not at a Volvo dealership) battery is charged and good.

Problem: no cold air, no turbo on acceleration... Could this be a computer problem?
Is it possible that the computer controlling these functions need to be reprogrammed. Or would they be damaged from driving until the battery went dead. Any idea how much for reprograming?

We need an budget idea as the repair has put us in a hole dollar wise. looks like the next stop is the Volvo dealership which is 140 miles away! :?: :?:

Thanks!
