leak on passenger side s40

Post by Carolg »

my s40 2001 started smoking/steaming through air vents and also very fishy smell. When I checked engine the coolant level was zero!. Topped it up it was still steaming and windows were misting up. Have now discovered the passenger side carpet is soaking. Does anyone have any ideas what is leaking and where i can check what is happening. :?:

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

You have a coolant leak in the heater or one of the hoses from the engine to the heater. The heater unit on the S40 is not easy to remove as some parts do require removal of the dashboard.
