halfshaft replacement on a 97 850 glt

halfshaft replacement on a 97 850 glt

im in the process of replacing my cv halfshaft on my 97 850 glt. i looked for new ones from the local parts stores but none were in stock. the dealer wants almost $400.00 for one. i found one on ebay for years 93-97. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... %3AIT&rd=1 it is a used one and i dont plan on having the volvo too much longer since it has 170k miles on it and climbing. the one i got from ebay looks exactly the same except that the spindle nut is a little smaller than the one i took off which was a 36 mm.

does anyone know the size of the spindle nut for the halfshat? is there anything special that i should know about when removing and replacing the halfshaft? all replies are really appreciated.

pretty easy and straight forward. so if you need it done, its not too bad to do it yourself.
