No, it's not against the rules. Matt wants stuff to be here, but if not, he wants MVS to be the place where people can find the links to it if they do happen to be somewhere else. Unlike some sites, there is no problem with referencing other places where useful information can be found.
Also......that is as you said an excellent tutorial. That guy did extremely good work. I appreciate your showing it to us.

I printed all the pages (9 html pages) and that converted to about 70 pages in PDF format. In case that site ever goes down, we have it here on the MVS server in PDF format.
It's easier to view via the link above, but I just get worried that some of these things will be lost forever. Hopefully this isn't against the rules either?

All the same. The part numbers on your valves are different on the LPT versions but otherwise they all bolt up the same way.laddot wrote:I am new here and am planning a head gasket change/ head milling and valve job. Is this tutorial good for a 97 850 GLT model also?

I'm on FPC Groton's site ordering the parts from the list in the tutorial, and then I saw a "head gasket set" listed. Only problem w/it is it doesn't list out the contents of the kit. I does say to order the bolts, water pipe gasket and thermostat housing gasket. Has anyone used this kit who can say if it has everything else neede for a HG job?
Thanks
Thanks
Scooter7, the pic shows the following parts in that kit:
Head gasket
Exhaust gaskets
Intake gasket
Valve stem seals
Oil pump gasket, O-ring, and seal
Cam seals front and rear
Crank seal front and rear
Spark plug O-rings
Thanks for all the kind comments about my tutorial. Putting the tutorial together took as long as the repair, but I knew it would be worth it.

So I've been finally able to get to working on my car. I made it to the step where I have to use a puller tool to take off the camshaft pulley. Everything is lined up and I am using the puller and by tightening it the whole pulley moves clockwise and the pulley also has come half way off.( I read that nothing was supposed to move or else it would mess up my timing.) Should I try and tap the pulley back on to be able to turn back the camshaft to its original position or is there something I can do later to fix the problem later....??
