Headlight wiper motor S70 - how do you get to it?

Post by s70volvo »

I've seen numerous posts on this forum discussing the symptoms and solutions to headlight wiper problems, but I can't find any that describe how to access the headlight wiper motor that is referred to in numerous posts. Would someone kindly tell me how to access and remove the motor that needs working on. My passenger side wiper is locked and will not move.

Thank you for the reply, but that repair database begins with instructions on how to repair the motor. It assumes you already have the motor in place to work on. My question is not what to do with the motor once I have it, my question is how do I locate and remove the motor? For example, do you have to remove the headlight assembly? I simply don't know how to reach first base with this project.

Headlights will have to be removed. Lhs is much easier than the Rhs. Once the headlights are out, there isn't really any more trick to do the rest of the job. Except on the Rhs one, if you don't want to fight with the engine loom being in the way, I would normally cut a little section of the front body section off .... right on where it covers the motor.

It appears to be straight forwarded in getting to the motor for the Headlight wipers, but to remove the motor you must remove the wiper arm. How is this done, is the a clip, etc that must come off?

loosen the nut under the black flip up piece at the base. It's 8mm.
