Need help with my wife's 98 xc/awd
OK, as stated I have an 1998 Volvo xc/v70. I purchased it used with 120k on her. My check engine light is on and pulled the following codes P0171, P0243, and p04550. My car wants to shutoff on me when ever I sit at a stop and I get very sluggish acceleration at stand still. I've checked my Volvo manual and it say a loose vacuum hose could cause this ( evap has a gross leak ) I want to perform the pressure test but I have no clue where to apply the pressure. Also does all the xc/awd come standard with a turbo? How can I tell? Thanks in advance.

The usual suspect for the vacuum leak is the elbow that goes into the passenger's (US) side of the intake manifold. It is a real bearcat to get to without removing the power steering pump but my daughter was able to get her hands in there and plug it back in. She then was able to get a zip tie on it to hold it in place.
Beyond that a smoke test is the way to go since it will reveal any vacuum line leaks.

It could be that the MAF is just dirty. You can buy MAF cleaner at any auto parts store and give it a spray and see if things change. When cleaning a MAF element just spray it and let the cleaner dry, don't scrub it or even touch it.
It may or may not fix the problem but it only costs a few dollars for a can of cleaner.

It is a turbo, though you probably can't tell from driving these models. You'll see the intercooler pipes up and over the top of the engine, and the turbo sits beneath a metal heatshield at the back of the engine bay.
Sometimes the P0243 can be thrown in conjunction with a MAF sensor error. Take care of that first, reset the code, and see if that one comes back.

My experience with my 1998 V70: The MAF failed and all I got was intermittent stalling, sometimes in the middle of the road.
Spraying the MAF to clean is a temporary measure.
My MAF failed at 100K miles.
In your case, at 120K miles, especially when the engine runs OK with the MAF disconnected, it is a sign that the MAF is failing.
You are talking about safety issue, your wife could be stalling right in the middle of the highway: dangerous!
Personally, I'd replace the MAF for $150. Use BOSCH Only!
This way you sleep better at night!
