oil light smoke and stuttering

Out driving today and my oil light came on. Looked in the manual and says that if it goes out after restart then everything a-ok. Drove for a bit more and light came on again. Checked oil at both stops and was full according to the dipstick. Decided to drive it home after a few hours of sitting due to the fact that there was no valve noise and no smoke.....Bad idea..Got it a couple miles and started to stutter. Acted like the parking break was on and then was released. Then the oil light came back on followed by a spy hunter worthy smoke cloud. Any ideas as to where I should start and if I completely ruined my engine?

Is this a Turbo? How many miles? When was the oil changed and did they use a Volvo/Mann filter? Unusual sounds?
