My 2008 S40 only has 16,000km on it. Since I got it in November 2007 I've had to get it boosted 5 times. Whenever I leave it in the garage for one week, sometimes less, the battery drains completely.
My dealer offered the following advice:
- I don't drive it enough (...) I should use it more...
- Whenever I leave for more than one week, I should disconnect the battery.
At my insistence, they replaced the original battery in 2009 but the problem persists.
Does anyone else have this problem?

A good battery should keep its charge for a lot longer than that. I often leave my car for 4 weeks and it still cranks and fires without any problem.
Modern cars do have some equipment which needs an electrical supply all the time e.g. clock and alarm but these do not take a large current to keep running.
It looks like you have a parasitic drain which needs to be traced. Possibly an interior light doesn't switch off. Glove box and engine compartment lights are prime examples as you can't see them.
To test for a parasitic drain you need a multi-meter and follow these instructions.

It could be as simple as your glove box not closing completely .
I had this sisue with a car many years ago one week and a dead battery .
It was caused by a wire being pinched under the tow bar reinforcement in side the boot or trunk .
Most likely a sticking relay or some where something is staying on so check with a multi meter and see what is staying alive .
Is your trunk light staying on?
