We have a 2004 S60 non turbo with 98k miles. We bought this car used 2 years ago with 77k miles on it. It has been a great car except the occasional stalling problem. It was worse until I had the throttle body cleaned about 5000 miles ago. Since then it has stalled twice, the most recent being the most frightening for my wife on a highway. She pulled over the car started fine and has not stalled since.
I checked with Volvo today and the car was built after the recall for the fuel pressure sensor. I am looking for help. Has anyone else encountered this problem and how was it corrected? Any ideas on what I can try? There are no messages displayed nor is the CEL light on. Does the computer store a stalling event and can it be seen by an OBD II scanner that an independent shop would have?

The way my wife describes the stall is that she felt it coming a few seconds before it happened ( transmission shift felt different) and she started to head toward the breakdown lane on the highway. She had just entered the congested highway and was at approx 30 mph, after a 1 mile trip to the highway. This was after the car sat for approximately 1 hr at about 65 degrees F outdoor temp.

Perhaps clogged air filter or a general air flow restriction...
