I was recently poking around under the hood of my recently purchased 1995 850 Turbo Wagon.
Of course the odometer is broken (184k) so I was excited to find out about getting the actual mileage from the diagnostic thing-a-majig. I did get that (211k) and a bunch of codes that I won't waste your time with- BUT there is doubtless more codes than I was able to read because A5 and A6 were blank. No 1-1-1, no light at all...
I pulled it out to have a closer look and there is simply NO wire going to A5 and A6 seems to have a wire there but nothing happens. I wrote down and cleared the codes on all the other ports and there are now no lights on on the dash. A couple of the same codes have come back which I will start working on this weekend, but I don't know what to make about A5&6.
Any thoughts?
I spent a couple of hours searching for this and couldn't find any previous mention of it.
Thanks for your help.

A-6 was only for the N/A models with the LH 3.2 ECU system with two modules, your turbo runs the Motronic 4.3 ECU module and it doesn't have the additional ECU module like the LH 3.2. I don't think A-5 was ever used for anything in North America.
Were you able to pull your actual mileage codes from A-7? Mine worked like a champ and spit the real mileage right out as per the instructions.

Whew! So nothing to worry about then... (as far as that goes)
As far as the mileage codes- I sure did! I guess that would go on the scoreboard as my first accomplishment with this car.
It's funny, I really pushed on the fact that the odometer didn't work to get a better deal on the purchase, only to find out pretty quickly what the actual mileage is. Now it makes me want to fix the odometer just because. I have to say, although this car has over 200k on it, it is in pretty darn good shape. I also discovered after filling up the tank that it had a sever gas leak, but thanks to this site I found out about the heat shield recall and just got the car back yesterday after having a new tank, etc. put in for free. Definitely learned a lesson about checking for recalls on used cars.
Now I'm trying to decide what to do first:
PCV, Heater Core, or some of the other miscellaneous things.
I'm leaning toward the Heater Core because driving the car makes me feel a little yucky due to the coolant in the cabin. It always irritates my sinuses and leaves a funny taste in my mouth. I sure don't want to cart my 2 year old around in it until the cabin is a little more fresh.
Thanks so much for your help.
