What is this hose?
What is this hose?
Yesterday I was changing the oil in my 2005 V70 T5. Near the oil filler cap there is a black plastic line that I saw some oil on it. When I wiped it off to examine it I noticed it was broken. The more I looked at it, it just fell apart. This line runs from near the oil fill cap thought the intake manifold to somewhere on the engine. It is a black plastic line that is about ½ inch in size. What is this line called so I can find one on line or call a dealer about ordering one. How hard is this line to replace? I do not want to handle it as it is falling apart. The nearest dealer is over an hour away and I do not want to drive it. It looks like it is some type of oil breather line

that's the crankcase ventilation hose and attaches to the oil trap. You need to remove the intake manifold to replace it.
Common failure in 04-05 MY that came with the plastic corrugated type instead of the thick rubber hose.

It is a black plastic corrugated hose. I think I uploaded a picture of it. I am new to this so not sure if it went. I cannot tell from your picture as I have not dissasembled anything yet but it is likely the culprit. Do they make a beter replacement than what was originally there. For as nice as the rest of this car is that hose does not look to be a very good design. Thanks
