'95 850 ECC

Post by mwiles »

My automatic ECC recently stopped working completely. I pulled up the DTC's from the self-diagnostics, and this is what I have:

211: driver's side damper motor position sensor shorted or open circuit

321: driver's side damper motor active too long

323: ventilation damper motor active too long

411: passenger compartment fan overcurrent or seized

414 and 417: driver and passenger side temp. sensor intake fan seized

I just want to see if anyone out there has any experience with any of codes and resolving their respective issues. I've drawn the conclusion that the first 3 codes are probably related due to the sensor issue.

Thanks.

Start by clearing all of the codes and see what comes back. The ECC is like an elephant - it never forgets any error it has ever had unless it gets cleared.

The 411 is the one that likely killed the system - that is the main blower fan.

Try this too. I had an issue with my ECC, and It threw a bunch of codes. This was the fix for them all.

Thank you for very much. This has me hoping that the fix will be a lot less complicated than I originally planned.

What's the best way to get to the damper motor?

Well, I tore into it this afternoon. I think the blower motor had seized up - I took it out and hooked it to the battery and it ran, and after re-installing it, everything else worked without any issues.

Thank you all for your suggestions.
