'98 V70 Air Box Thermostat?

Post by jmeyer »

Hi All-

My Check Engine light recently came on. Pulled the following codes:
P0172 - Bank 1 too rich
P0130 - O2 sensor
P0102 - Mass Air Flow Circuit Low Imput
I cleared the codes, blew out the MAF and plan to clean based on another post in hopes to save a few bucks. I also pulled the plugs and cleaned the carbon off. Drove around for about 20 minutes and no check engine light. Exhaust smoke is a little better but still not back to normal.

I believe all my issues resolve around the MAF (P0102 error) and looking for parts online, I've notice that there may be a Air Box Thermostat. Anyone know if there is for a 1998 V70 nonTurbo AWD vehicle. And if so, where is this located in relation to the Air Box (Air filter)?

Any thoughts regarding error codes are welcome and appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Jef
