Uneven Front Brake Pads

When checking the brake pads on my S 60 T 2007 for wear I noticed the outer pads on the (front wheels only) were badly worn unevenly. The rotors seemed to be scorched somewhat ( darker in color). Does anyone have any Idea what is causing this uneven wearing of brake pads etc? Much appreciated...

describe "uneven" wear. IS it wearing them thinner on leading edge or???
OH, another thing, this is XC60 forum not S60.
