I'm looking to buy a 2001-2003 or so v70 XC for a winter car/ daily driver when immnotmdriving my 1970 7.5L Torino.
I've found a very nice and quite reasonably priced (about half of what the same year turbos are going for) 2001 XC with everything I want, except for a turbo.
It has the N/A I5 and the 5 speed auto. I only saw the car breifly bit have to go back for a proper testdrive.
Is there' much you can do to the NON - turbo motors as far as performance upgrades, or would they just be a waist of time and frail in comprising to the turbo or T5 model. Id buy the car in a heartbeat off the elderly gentleman except for the fact that I'm pretty use to the 450hp, 500+ ft/lbs, 460 in my Torino. I'm not looking for a race car or powerhouse but still want to have fun,'plus will mainly be a winter car which is always very wet for many months up here in Vancouver, Canada
Thanks
Mat
Sorry for the long post, just wondering how much I'd be missing going with the NON turbo?
Performance upgrades for N/A I5 or just get a turbo??

If you're in the US, ALL XC are turbo cars(I think they are turbos everywhere)
Better ead up on 2001s before you consider this, A VERY bad year for Volvos

How do the first generation xc's compare. I do like the higher stance of the second generations better,
Thanks mat
