does engine have to come out with transmission to swap tranny or from bottom on 1999 S 70

there is no 1999 S60, but 1999 S70.

The S60 production started with the 2001 model year. The S70 1998-2000.

No 99 s60, but assuming it's a 2001 s60 I believe the trans comes out the bottom.

If you want to take it out the top your going to have to take the engine with it.
