2001 V70 misses at idle... Throttle Body?

Post by flylow »

Okay I have a 2001 V70-T5 with 99,600.0 miles on it. So my problem is that my wagon misses at idle I was told it was a recall but my wagon just missed the 10 year thing? Again someone told me it's the throttle body so clean it first before I buy a new one.
Great but for the life of me I can't find it? I follow the air box hose to the turbo, nope? Is it under the intake manifold?
So can anyone tell me where to look/start. Another person told me it was the ETM where the hell is the ETM?
This is my first Volvo I really like the wagon and I just want to get it running the way it should! And yes I'm pretty good with working on car's been doing it a long time just new to Volvo's

Thanx

ETM IS the throttle body
Most need to remove the fan to get to it.
These are not normal throttle bodies (lie at a 90 degree angle) and must be removed to clean it properly

Thanks for the fan tip! And I just ordered a new one from xemodex can't wait. Talking to Chris at xemodex it's sounds like Volvo should have done this!

Did xemodex sell you a NEW one, or fix your old? Did they state if you would need to have the dealer install software, or recognotion codes? I know they could fix your old, and by doing so you, did not need to do any software issues with the dealer. If you don't mind disclosing, how much did a new one cost?

I gave them my VIN number so I do not need to go to the dealer for software codes. There is a $100.00 core charge refundable once you send back your old body. Give them a call they just use the old body but all new parts, it's more of a sold state system and it's cost was $569.00 Chris at xemodex is very nice and will answer any questions you have? They have a good web site that will answer a lot of your questions. Good luck

Damn it! I can´t find the throttle body on my 2000 v70 t5, the tube from de MAF goes all the way in the back of the engine.

Do anybody have any ideia?

the tube from the MAF goes to the turbo not the ETM.

the ETM is under the intake manifold.
