I took the first road trip with the Volvo sense bringing it back to life. The oil leak turned out to be one of the two hoses coming from the oil separator to the block that I neglected to get right the first time. With 87 octane fuel it averaged a little better than 29 mpg on the 900 mile trip,(better than I hoped) the 5 cylinder turbo motor has great low end torque. The cruise fluctuates several miles an hour not sure if that should be like that? Hopefully the car will last another 100k. Pretty happy with her overall.
Now what do you guys do for a cup holder?
Thanks for all the help and advice bringing it back to life. CTW

Wow great MPG. I just bought a used 98 XC70 but they say it needs an RMFG CV Drive Shaft and a New CV Drive Shaft. Do you know if these are necessary ? Also AWD light coming on. I don't think I need AWD but how to turn it off is a question.
Any insights highly appreciated.

There's no "AWD" light...
And if you drive in snow, get that rear axle drive shaft fixed.
For front wheel half-shafts, Raxles is a great way to go:

Check with Colorado Drive Shaft for a sweet price on a rebuid.

AWD makes a very big difference in winter!

If your ABS light is coming on, you likely have a problem with your ABS module.
