Why do I smell antifreeze in my car?

Post by chris65 »

I have a 98 s70 with about 85,000 on it. I am starting to smell antifreeze from the vents inside the car. Im thinking its my heater core. If so, can you help me locate it? Or if you have any other suggestions, that would be great. on another topic, my cruse control is not working. Any help on fixing that problem? I never had so many little problems with a car before. This is my first volvo and might be my last.

You may be correct about the heater core. It's located against the firewall in the center behind the console. Push in on the carpet on both sides of the console at the floor to check for dampness (possible leak).
