Hallo, I have problem with my fuel parking heater. Same for S60 and V70.
After cleaning of "Burner unit" I have tried the electric motor and I was surprise the rotation is clockwise.
(acc. Arrow by marker)
From my point of view the heater “take“ fresh air from top, “pushing” down where is the air mixed with petrol from “bowl”, there is burned by spark and than the propeller/fan blow down/out through chassis of heater to exhaust...
Is it logical?
From the other hand when I have repaired other two parking heater (diesel) there were the propellers mounted same as picture upstairs.
But on the scheme from Volvo shows upside-down.
I have to tried how its works both possibility. After plugged 12V electric motor nothing special happened. What is strange for me – the shape of the propeller? In case of mounting upside-down (right picture below) there is very salient fact – the radius of propeller is copy shape of the bowl... Also the spacer ring between propeller and bowl has more clear sense...
At the end the blading of propeller with rotation clockwise “taking” the air (or mixture with petrol) more meaningful – on leading edge lets say...
Question is:
Anybody know the proper mounting position of propeller for petrol parking heater from Volvo S60 2001 please???! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!! John

Hi,
I opened for cleaning my heater Volvo part no: 8633299, from S60/D5
which is ARDIC AH2 - Diesel
looks like as you show in the picture.
The propeller has been mounted like in your above [ or down left] picture.
