There are two parts number:
31216176 for the joint, seems the metal parts only.
There is a cheap one but dare not to use it.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product.
30651204 the joint repair kit
This includes all the items needed, the grease, gasket, and so on.
So I should buy 30651204, correct?

The part you linked to is not for your car. That part is for an XC90 and I have never heard of Febest brand parts. Then again I had no earthly idea that Newegg was in the auto parts business, I always thought of them for computer stuff.
If I'm not mistaken Colorado Drive Shaft sells a kit but I don't know how the price compares to OEM through a dealership.

Yes, found the Colorado Driving Shaft store. Much cheaper than OEM.

I have a slight concern. The shaft is running in a soft spring setup. The front joint, rear joint, middle bearing are all easy affected by other vibrations from engine, tire, etc. My car is so old and engine has slight vibration at low speed. I am wondering after new joint is installed and shaft mounted, could it easily resonate with other small vibrations and cause premature damage to the joint again? Maybe I'd be better off running FWD only, and put shaft on before next Winter. Oh yes the Winter in west coast seems is over already. Today it is above 60F.

I got the front joint from Colorado Driving Shaft, and put it on the propel shaft. I don't want to mount the shaft though. Reasons are:
- The car is not silky smooth. I can tell there is engine vibration around 15mph (especially when going uphill). This could be the original source of propel shaft vibration. And with #87 fuel this vibration is much more obvious than with #93. So I always use #93 now.
- I don't need AWD regularly. Even if I go ski this winter, the road to ski resort does not require AWD. Just need tire chain couple of times a year (if ever).
So I leave the shaft in my garage on some wood stud. Maybe the original joint is not bad at all.
