no more sound, no radio...

Post by dathing89 »

Hello,

Each time i start my XC90, the radio power on too (as i never power off it). But one day, the radio power on, 1à second after, the left speaker cut off, then all sound and ligths on the radio. Impossible to power on again until i stopped the car.
But it's not finish... after the radio power off alone, the GPS rise up then down alone...
I remark that the tuner buttons lights blinks every 40 seconds.

Does someone have any idea ?

Many thank's ans sorry for my english.

Lilian

The audio system, including the nav unit, are fibre optic connected via these orange covered fibre optic leads that look like wires. If any of these become disconnected or if the fuse blows for any of the components then the whole system goes down.
Most of this will require an experienced tech to repair.
The one place where the system can more easily be shut down is the amplifier under right front seat. The leads there could be knocked loose by something going under that seat and then being retrieved. The amp is a black ribbed box seen if you slide the RF seat to rearmost position.

Hello,

many thank's for your reply. I've got the wiring diagram and i will check the fiber loop (i'm computer & electronic specialist, but here it's very special...). I will try to remove modules from the loop one by one using a short-cut (not sur for the translation) just to see if the system change its symptomes...

I will come back after.

Regards
Lilian
