Hello; I have a 2003 XC 70 with about 80K. In the last couple of days, I have noticed an intermittent, faint antifreeze smell in the cabin while using the heater. I pulled the panels on either side of the center console and did not see any obvious leaks from the pipe connections or from the core. The windows are not misting at all. The reservoir is at the max mark.
I have checked the engine bay and see nothing obvious. Assuming I have a leak in the heater core, is there any procedures on line for inspecting/replacing this unit? This is not a huge issue yet, but I want to get this sorted before the weather gets much worse. Any help would be appreciated.
Antifreeze odor from heat vents
Update; I was driving this morning and realized the odor was present immediately after activating the windshield wash. I suspect there is a leak in the washer lines that is being drawn into the cabin air intake. I will be checking it tonight.
