Transmission Compatability,2001 V70

I have searched and while the transmission guide is a help I still have a question or two. I know my automatic is shot (2001 V70T5 with geartronic) but have found a local low mileage (non-geartronic)replacement.... Same year/model.
That brings me to my questions: Is the non-geartronic aw55-50sn a compatible replacement for a geartronic box?
Are the two the same other than the computer controller and shifter?
Basically a v70 donor car without the sport package.
