P0444- Emissions Purge Valve
I have gone down from 9 to 1 codes! Thanks Everyone. Now my last code is P0444- Emissions Purge Valve. I am not having much luck finding information on this. Can someone help tell me what I have to do to fix this. Thanks!
Ive had similar problems with low and no flow through that switch, i still do but just dont have the patience or for that matter a smoke machine to chase down the leak.
however if your valve is no good then you'll likely need a replacement, which i just happen to have one in front of me right now!

Take your valve off and attempt to blow through it. You should not be able to unless the valve is no longer shutting like it's supposed to.

I wont have time to look at it until Sunday at the earliest but would this be causing a slight hesitation in acceleration? It goes fine most of the time but every once in a while it hesitates at around 15mph around turns? Thanks

Yes, it will flood the intake with gasoline fumes and/or air if there's a leak elsewhere. The valve is set to open at higher engine speeds to allow it to burn off the vapors from the gas tank.

It's on the radiator shroud. Pull off the plug and two hoses, pull off the valve, and attach the new one in the same orientation.
Ignore the blue arrows here; I took my picture from something else

If I used the wrong purge valve from my car what would it do? I actually put in the 94 none turbo... took a little shaving from the EPV itself to fit into the connection. But it looked like the same exact part otherwise. When I put it in and reset codes the PO444 code never came up again. IS it possible that the code is fixed but the car is still running like crap? Thanks

Unless you have a vacuum line leak downstream of the purge valve the car should run just fine. It really doesn't give a crap about the evap system as it is running.
The EVAP system is purely for the greenies.

There are two white check valves just after the purge valve, one upper from the T connector another to the right. One of them is stuck open on mine, I can blow through it both ways. Can I use a generic check valve there? Or they are made of specific "vapour resistatnt" materials?
I'm having P0440 code, and my purge valve looks pretty dead. I can blow through it, and it does not react in any way when I apply 12V to it. The previous owner had it changed like two years ago, but I don't think they changed the small filter. Also I think this faulty check valve could shorten it's life too.
