How to disconnect daytime Headlights/ tail lights? Topic is solved

Hello, I'm new here. Does anyone know how to deactivate the daytime

running lights on a 05' s60? It's a company car, so any cheap way that is

known would help. Thanks

I work in disability fraud investigations. Sometimes, I have to follow individuals around town. It's easier to get noticed with day time head/tail lights on.

Anyone know how to disable them?

Yep, you've got problems. The only way the headlights can be disabled is by programming the CEM module. Unfortunately, most Volvo dealers won't do it because they say it's a Volvo safety feature and Volvo won't let them do it. The only hope is to go to a 3rd party mechanic who would do it, but doesn't have the programs for the latest models (mine is a 2005 S60T) so I'll probably have to wait for a year or so. Frankly, the S60 is a pile of cr_p and I will never buy another Volvo again.

My dealer downloaded some software into the car and now the lights come on and off manually. I greatly prefer this over the automatic feature. With them on all the time the car just burns thru the bulbs so quickly.

mine still automatic I like it like that, about burning quickly.. not true
and dude its just 2o bucks to replace them,
if you can buy a car you can totally pay 20 buck a year to replace the light beams

Plus having daytime running lights saves you money with your car insurance. So it more than pays for itself.

Don't know why people want to deativate this very important safety feature ( sure if you in the force..there may be reaosns etc)

You can judge speed much easier when you see lights.

Low sun in the morning and the evening can turn cars invisible to oncoming drivers..again should have your lights on in such conditions.

Number of people who don't have lights on in heavy rain etc is gob smacking..they should all have their license endorsed for driving without due care and attention.

Should be a compulsory feature on all cars.

The only thing I don't like is that they come on when you turn the iggy on..this doesn't help in starting her up in the morning with the extra load. With all the computer control should be easy enough for them to come on ONCE the engine is running
