Motor 1990 240 for 1989 240 won't start

I replaced worn out 1990 240dl motor that still ran for a lower milage 1989 240dl motor and it won't start.I'm getting fuel to the rail and spark , but my plugs are dry.Can anyone help guide me in the right direction?

A shot in the dark but had the same problem with an old 82, shot some oil down the cylinders and away she went. seems to me the injectors may need to feel compression before they will fire

Check your injectors with a noid light. The relay may not be supplying voltage to the injectors.
