V70 Starting problem

Post by beazerboy »

Hi, I am having trouble starting my '98 V70. When cold, it fires up then stops. It usually takes three or four atempts to get it running, with a good bit of throttle on. I dont like doing this with a cold engine. It occasionally gives the same trouble when warm. Any ideas?

Probably the immobiliser aerial fitted around the ignition switch, quite a common fault on these cars, you could try cleaning the offending item but replacement isn't that difficult or too costly, if you have access to a fault code reader see what codes are stored and one of them will probably confirm the aerial as the fault - Mike
