2000 s80 t6 hard start p0335
recently purchased this lovely car runs great when its running but almost kills the battery everytime i try to start it. will crank engine for 5 seconds at a time most of the time will not start to be more specific engine will turn over but wont start the tach shows a few hundred rmp and ocasionally will jump to about 2-3000 rpm but does not want to "KICK OVER" after several attempts will finally start any ideas .. just for more info have already raplaced timing belt and replaced crank sensor after first time crank position code came up in the engine codes... but even with new cramk sensor still have same problem. thanks for any ideas

Sometimes the routing of the cable from the crank sensor passes by the heavy power cable for the starter motor and fudges up the signal, this is what causes your tacho to jump when you crank it. That said I dont think that, by itself would cause a hard start condition. I have the same issue, and low compression in two clyinders and it still fires up OK.
Start out by shielding and or re-routing the signal cable from your crank position sensor...
After that, if you ar still having starting issues go for the basics (if they haven't been done already): Spark plugs (single electrode, copper, gapped to .028") & fuel filter.
