Exhaust manifold pipe fromengine to catayltic convter

17yr olds daughters 1990 volvo gl is making loud noise at acceleration. looks like will need to replace the pipe from exhaust manifold/catlytic converter.

Called volvo dealer today They want close to $800.00.

Any suggestions on where or how to fix? Checked a few junk yards but no luck. Have also thought of taking to welder.

Please shoot me your ideas. Any one have a diagram of this they could email me?

hpoe this gets to you in time. this pipe is called an engine or down pipe. i replced mine myself for under $200 for the pipe and gasket . from a parts dealer . spray pb blaster on 2 bolts up top to loosen for socket wrench and cut bolts at cat with grinder
