Did Mitsubisi make the engine and drive train for the 2000 Volvo S4 (US)? I don't know what would make me sleep better, if it were Swedish/Belgian/Netherlander or Japanese.

the north American S40/V40 models used the Volvo engines with A-W autos. In Europe it could be a Volvo or a Mitsu GDI or a Peugeot/Citroen/Ford diesel. The Volvo motor was built in Skovde (the O should have the two dots above it), pronounced shove-duh, that is a Volvo factory north of the car assembly plant in Torslanda, SE.
