Air Conditioning S40 2001

I was driving my car with air flow on low. All of a sudden, the air stopped then came back on at full flow & is now on permanently on. I can rotate the dial to air con on or off, but it stays at full blast. I can control the temperature, unfortunately not the flow as I have lost the ability to control it. Can it be fixed easily or is it more serious. Please advise when you can. I was thinking has some kind of fuse blown?

A common problem on the S/V40 is the heater resistor pack failing.

Take a look at this thread for more detail, including how to repair it.

Finally repaired the air con as per your note Billofdurham & thank you for your help. Was a bit fiddly especially getting upper screw as it is behind the passenger glove box. Took the maverick approach & removed glove box & still hard to access, so drilled hole in position through panel to get screw driver to posidrive head. Saved removing a lot more of the car for an unhelpful screw. Anyway job done & once again thank you
