cannot find four prong window switch 1988240 wagon

Post by coulomb »

Help

My dealership here only has a five prong window switch, the female end of the harness is only four prong. I have gone through one summer where 100 degress fahrenheit is a daily occurance. How can I find proper said switch or switches, and if not able to then how could I rig something, such as using a wire to complete the circuit?

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

I have checked the wiring diagrams for the '87, '88 and '89 240, in case the car was a carry over on the model change, and all of the window switches have 5 wires. Is the female end intact? Which switch is it and what are the wire colours in the female end?

Bill.

I have a four pronged switch in my 240 as well, replaced them last year. I ordered from here and it was affordable and was a sound quality.

I apologize, I was mistaken, I just looked at my switch and it does have five prongs. Keep the link just in case though. It might help. Sorry again!
