05 xc90 2.5T Timing Belt
Im coming up on 98k miles. Correct me if i am wrong but for my vehicle i "should" change the timing belt, tensioner, and idler pulley at 120k miles. My question is when do you guys think i should change all that, and whether or not i should change the serpentine at the same time since there is no mention of that in my service book. Thanks!

It is a good idea to do the water pump also. The T belt drives it and it might last to 210K miles but Atlantic City Bookmakers would probably spot you bad odds for that one.

Trust me, once you tear down into that far, you are going to thank yourself for replacing the "serviceable" parts at that time. You do not want to spend a day putting a new timing belt on, and then 10,000 miles later find out your water pump is going bad. While you got it all out in the open knock out the water pump, belts, tensioner & idler pulley(s) and don't forget about the thermostat (you dont have to do a tb job to change the thermostat, but since you are going to flush the coolant, if you replace the water pump, might as well put a new one in). Hope this helps, and the job is not hard, just take your time, and follow the directions and you will be fine. Let us know how the project comes out!

Does anyone know if they're are torque specs for any of the bolts/nuts for the timing belt replacement job? If so, I would like to know what they are.
Thanks!
I have a 2004 xc90, 2.5t, awd.
