how to acheive 300 WHP ?

Post by bugsbunnies95_850t »

ok so im well on my way to having a pretty quick car .. im aiming at 300 whp .. but hw do i get there ? i have cold air spark plugs and a 850 t5r ecu .. so im guesstimating that im at about 250 ? is that about close ? how would i get te rest of the power ? i have a few ideas but queston about each .. so the fist thing is fuel . injectors ? everyone tlks aout colore injectors but what color (size) should i get ? and would i need to put in a h.p. fuel pump in as wll ? or just a fuel pressure regulator ? what about boost ? how much boost would i need to run ? id raher not go over 15lbs. but thats a hope and i would mind changing that. im just concerne with longevity of the engine. intercooler? everyone says the stock one is awsome ad well im sure it is cause volvo is awsome but how awsome is it lol can it handle the 15 lbs ? or more if i needed o do so ? coil ? is the stock coil good ? or would it be better to upgrade that ? plug wires ? those to ? give me some ideas. im only 17 so i dont really know as much as all u guys out there. even though td be awsome if i did . if somone could tel me wether this is gonna do it or if its just a good way to get close or if this isnt gonna get me close and some ideas that would deffinetly get me there. THANKS

You need a tuned ecu (which I offer check out my sig. )

HP fuel pump
Fuel regulator
bigger Turbo
bigger injectors
Free flowing exhaust

That should get you close.... but..

Before you do major mods though make sure your car is in the best condition you can get it. A lot of people start doing mods to there cars and have problems. Its usually due to breakdowns and such. Make sure its tuned up, all fluids and filters changed, timing belt and related components, etc. And after that you should be good to go.

Bring car to Stage 0 with full synthetics and Volvo coolant and distilled water 50/50 mix (only -No substitutions at this power level).
Buy and install IPD stage 3

Drive and enjoy.

300hp on a FWD can be tricky (fun) when it comes to traction. Try to be careful and not use these rules.
1.The sidewalks aren't just for pedestrians anymore.
2.The breakdown lane is "my lane"
3.The grip on all tires is improved by long, smokey burn outs.

Thanks bugs. As JDs has said IPD offers a excellent product IF you wanna spend that kind of money. Personally speaking if I can get great results and save several hundred dollars or more I know what I'm buying. :).

Ask your tuner what size the tune is set for. Then you will have your answer.

You could use any set you want as long as they fit and your tune compensates for them.

To answer your injector question you have several options I would recommend the white top injector and/or you can use a 4 bar regulator out of a Dodge 2.2 Turbo that'll increase your fuel flow. This is a hit and miss kind of thing. You need to get the car on a dyno after your mods and get accurate AFR readings and go from there.
