2002 XC70
Power window failure, central lock failure, and fuel filler door will not open. There has been a constant clicking from inside the driver side door. Checked the fuses and don't think that is the problem. Took inside door panel off and disconnected central lock buttons. This stopped the clicking. Do I need to replace this unit? If so, where do i get one and approx what do they go for?
central lock system failure?
You need a new driver's door switch. This switch is more than a switch, it is an electronic module, that makes it more expensive and has to be mated to the car by the dealer.
Used ones might or might not work, but if you are going this route try year specific replacement.

Try http://www.erievovo.com/ or you can look on ebay as well. My guess on price would be between $50 and $100 depending on where you buy it. The dealer or other shop with the appropriate equipment would have to program the module. I've changed a few of these and some will work without programming and some won't, don't know the rhyme or reason as to why or why not.
a new switch/module needs to be reprogrammed by the dealer or shop with VIDA hookup. The module you can get online new, much cheaper, but the local dealer won't allow you to bring your own part.
Ask the indie shop if you can bring your own part and they'll reprogram, o/w you're screwed and got to pay.
