Exhaust for non-turbo 2003 V70

Post by zooplane »

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-CAT- ... 3035wt_941

Found this... I know its for the 2.4T, etc... but... It has the mid and rear muffler and the same hanging and mounting points as my stock one now... I have a ugly exhaust and really want to achieve some nice sound and look... anyone have something for a non-turbo or could this work?????

Thanks!!

the systems go the same path but have a different pipe size. It seems simple enough for an exhaust shop to make some sort of adapter.

I can get the adapter... but will it work with my N/A engine with my necessity for back pressure and such?

Nothing will give you more hp so have a shop make you up the same sized exhaust but with a "nicer" sounding muffler.
If you exhaust is in generally good shape, just remove the CENTER resonator and replace with a straight pipe.
Same result, nicer sound but at a cost of maybe $50-$75 bucks instead of hundreds!
You can always add a nice exhaust tip later on if you like it.
I've emoved center resonators on Rs Xcs etc.
The result is the same, a HAIR more throaty a sound, but nothing obnoxious to worry about

"with my necessity for back pressure and such?"
There is no necessity for backpressure. There could be an argument made for a handful of cars with EGR systems that need some pressure for a related sensor but your does not have EGR.

Nope
Not with a non turbo and back pressure is strictly for HP, nothing else
..and why are you fixated on looks, YOU CAN'T SEE IT ANYWAY.
This is not a street rod, this is a Volvo wagon for Christ's sake!

No YOU are.
I'm trying to save you money.
No one can see your exhaust
Why spend $500 when $80 WILL yield the exact same result
or add another $50 for a nice exhaust tip.
You don't know what you're talking about with this back pressure BS and all. Someone has put something in your head that is meaningless on a stock non turbo and doing what I said will allow you to spend the money in other places on the car where you may actually SEE differences.
