97 S90 Engine revs at it's leisure

I have multiple issues that need attention on my beloved 1997 S90.
The most pressing issue is that something is happening with the acceleration. It has a mind of its own.
It's almost as if someone else is driving the car sometimes. The gas just revs up and down by randomly while I'm driving. And sometimes when I am in park or neutral it revs way the hell up and redlines and just sits there. Help!
She has 180k and looks amazing.

I had this problem on my 760, and was able to fix the problem by reseating the MAF connector.

Mine was doing the same thing and wife wanted new auto. Problem was w/ the thermostat and the ECT sensor located right next to the thermostat. Cost was 50.00 for both, changed both/ passed smog/wife happy. Next job is to get power seat L/S to function again , up and down work but not up and down.
