Milky Hose running under car

Post by rons850 »

I changed the oil in my 98-850 N/A today and found a rubber hose that runs from the front of my car to the driver side rear door and it had that milky looking stuff runing out of it ont the drive way. It doesnt look factory, Is it?

Does not sound like it is a factory line. Can you take a picture of it?

My gut tells me that someone rigged up a PCV bypass rather than actually servicing the PCV system.

I will get a pic of it this weekend and post, I think it has something to do with the PCV system. As I go thru a drive thru sometimes smoke can be seen comeing out from under driver rear door and when approaching the car to get in u can also see the hose zip tied to the bottom of the car. Very ugly i want to clean the PCV system and do away with that hose if thats what it is. How tuff is it to do?

I'd suggest testing your compression before going into it - if your car has bad rings or burns lots of oil, that may be why that hose is there.
