Blinking climate control lights

Post by gherman »

Ocassionally, my AC and Recirc. lights will flash for a bit and stop. The manual states this is an indication of a problem in the heat/AC when it continues, but it only does this for a bit. Everthing works fine. Do I have a problem?

The light is programmed to flash for 20 seconds to tell you fault codes have been stored. Unfortunately, you need to use a code reader that can read AC faults.

You may think that nothing is wrong but these systems are so complex you may not notice a fault - yet.

Thanks, again, Bill. Read the codes with my cheapy little reader, but found nothing. Do I need a special secret Volvo reader, or can I sleep well anticipating the soon AC bilss of summer driving?

I don't think your "cheapy little reader" will read heater codes although they are read from the same data link connector. As for going to the dealer, we rarely point people in that direction. Check around at some of your local repair shops as some of them may have the required equipment. Mine does.
