Passenger Compartment Relay Box - how to remove

Post by luthermole »

My brights were not working so my dad replaced the high beams relay with the parking light relay. The tail lights seemed to also be affected by the bad parking light relay. I have new relay for parking lights but can't get the relay box removed. It's been explained that all one needs to do is pull the bottom of the relay box towards seat and pull down. This doesn't seem to be working too well for me.

How can I get the relay box removed?

there is a fuse box in the passenger compartment, but no relay boxes that I am aware of.

There is a relay box in the engine bay and in the left trunk area

Thanks for the response but I'm positive there is a relay box. It's underneath the steering column and behind the fuse box. It's in a very difficult spot reach and the upper left part of the box isn't visible. That's what makes it so tricky. I've been able to remove the right side, but not the left side. The CEM is also located on this relay box which also makes me nervous removing it. This is for a 2001 S60 T5 manual transmission.

Pictures are worth a thousand words...truly. That's all it took. 10 seconds to remove the box, 15 to replace the relay and 60 to reinstall relay box. Thanks!
